Trini in Dubai

Windies lost, but we had a good afternoon.

Let’s follow Indra Ramsingh Geoffroy, former cricket administrator, as she experiences the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in the United Arab Emirates.

A Trini’s experience at the ICC T20 World Cup

It was indeed a joy being in this, “Ring of Fire.” The ease of reaching the venue, entry into this awesome stadium, the company, and of course, the ambience of the hospitality suite.

There were not many spectators, but the camaraderie we felt with the non-West Indians who were supporting the Windies made the experience even more enjoyable.

Of course, it wasn’t a Trini atmosphere, but we made up for the small numbers with our voices, our flags, and true Caribbean-type support; I missed my flute, which I forgot to bring with me, but I am trying to get one for the next game.

I was a proud West Indian watching my team “take the knee,” and walk out to the field. 160 would have been enough, we thought, but alas, that was not to be. The SA team played the better game. It was disheartening to see the loss, but we support still.

Some team changes we expect and with Jason Holder coming into the team, we feel more confident.

Go Windies!! as we look forward to a win in Game 3.
