Savannah Boys booked their place in the semifinals of the North Zone T20 tournament with a 42-run win over Pole 9 on Friday night at Diego Martin.
A superb 87 by Isaiah Rajah fired Savannah Boys to 189 for 6 with Mark Sankar (39) and Teshawn Castro (20) also among the runs.
The left-hander hit eight boundaries and belted four sixes in the innings for Savannah Boys.
Ryan Mohammed had 3 for 27 for Pole 9 with Shawn Sakan (1/23) and Luka Latiff (1/35) also among the runs.
Pole 9 overcame the loss of two early wickets through Vikash Mohan (57) and Imran Khan (35).
However, Khan was run out by Pradeem Ali while Mohan was dismissed LBW by Chetram Ramlal to leave Pole 9 at 111 for 4.
With 79 needed off the last five overs, Pole 9 only mustered 147 for 6 in their 20 overs to lose by 42 runs.
Ramlal ended on 3 for 20, while Castro (1/25) and Ali (1/34) were among the wickets for Savannah Boys.
Savannah Boys will play North Side Future Stars in their final round preliminary match on 30 July, while Pole 9 must beat Santa Cruz on 28 July to revive their chances of a semifinal place.
Meanwhile, the Group B match between Glenora Sports Club and Paragon Sports Club was washed out without a ball bowled.
Unbeaten Paragon can claim a place in the semifinals with a victory over Barataria Ball Players, who are also undefeated in the tournament, on 29 July.
Glenora must beat Combine All Stars in their final game on 29 July to keep alive their chances of making it to the semifinals.
