Darren Bravo hit his second straight half-century to guide Santa Cruz Sports to a nine-wicket win over Combine All Stars and a place in the 2024 North Zone 40-over tournament final.

Playing at home at the Brian Lara Recreation Ground, Isaiah Hayes took 4 for 32, while Bravo had 2 for 9 to bowl out Combine All Stars for 174 in 34.3 overs.

Santa Cruz got an opening stand of 65 between Alvin Smith and Devon Sween before Bravo came to the wicket.

The left-hander struck six sixes and four fours in his 73 not out off 56 balls.

Bravo put on an unbroken 113-run stand with Alvin Smith (50 not out off 38 balls) to ease to the win.

Santa Cruz after failing to win a match in the league competition is now unbeaten in six matches (one abandoned) and has earned a place in the final with a game to spare.

In other matches in Group A, Riaz Mohammed hit 105 not out to inspire Pole 9 to an eight-wicket win over Bourg Mulatresse CCC at Barataria Recreation Ground.

Mohammed smashed 10 fours and seven sixes in his 105 off 51 balls as Pole 9 chased down 192 in only 19 overs.

Earlier, Rajesh Ramkissoon took 3 for 13 and Ryan Mohammed 2 for 35 to bowl out Bourg Mulatresse for 191 in 34.2 overs.

At Barataria Recreation Ground, Glenora Sports Club overcame an unsteady start to beat North Side Future Stars by 81 runs.

After falling to 72 for 7, Randy Balliram struck a counterattacking 72 off 56 to get Glenora to 190 all out.

Glenora then bowled out North Side for 109 with Richford Mohammed (4/21) and Kirstoff St John (4/39) as the main wicket-takers.

Meanwhile, in Group B, league supports El Socorro Youth Movement (EYM) survived a scare to beat Barataria Ball Players by 57 runs to win their fifth straight match and close in on a place in the final.

EYM fell to 31 for 2 before Richard Ali smashed 85 off 62 balls to rouse his team to 229 for 8 in 30 overs.

Barataria seemed to be cruising to victory at 127 for 1 before two run outs and excellent spells by Shakeem Prince (2/19) and Saieed Razack (2/47) saw Barataria fall to 172 for 7 in their 30 overs.

El Socorro can clinch their place in the finals with a victory over Paragon Sports Club next Sunday at Boundary Road.

At Brian Lara Recreation Ground, QPCC kept alive their hopes of a finals spot with a seven-wicket win over Invincible.

Andre Seetaram (61) and Na’Kalon Babb (46) put on 122 for the first wicket to chase down 166 for victory in only 20.1 overs.

Earlier, Seetaram took 3 for 32 and Matthew Da Costa had 3 for 22 in bowling out Invincible for 165 in 30.2 overs.

At Boundary Road, Waylon George-Joyeau (102) put on 120 for the second wicket with Taariq Mitchell (73) to power Shannon Sports to 331 for 5.

Trey Serrette took 4 for 93 for Ebony Sports, who were restricted to 119 for 8 in 25.2 overs.
