The North Zone T20 Festival produced another thriller on Friday night, with North Side Future Stars edging Shannon Sports by just one wicket in a pulsating contest at the Diego Martin Sports Complex. The victory propelled North Side to the top of Group 2, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
Batting first, Shannon Sports never quite found rhythm, as North Side’s bowlers struck regularly.
Only Iqwe Craig stood firm, compiling a composed 57 off 45 balls that anchored the innings.
With brief support from Reshawn Guevara (19) and Sylvon Cummings (13), Shannon battled their way to 146 for 9 in 20 overs.
Leading the charge with the ball was North Side’s Kyle Ramdoo, whose superb figures of 4 for 22 ensured Shannon never broke free.

He received valuable backing from Kendall Guerra (2/15) and Andre Medina (1/29).
North Side’s chase started disastrously, slipping to 21 for 4 before Ramdoo once again came to the rescue.
The all-rounder added a crucial 89-run partnership with Guerra (30) to restore stability.
Yet the game swung dramatically back in Shannon’s favour when Cummings ripped through the middle order, finishing with extraordinary figures of 6 for 22.
His dismissal of Ramdoo for a fighting 53 left North Side tottering at 142 for 8.
When Cummings bowled Junior James with the final ball of the 19th over, Shannon were one wicket away from a famous win.
But Terrence James kept his cool under pressure, striking two timely boundaries in the final over to seal victory with three balls to spare.
The result lifted North Side to four points, just ahead of Glenora (3), Savannah Boys and Shannon (2 each), with Bourg Mulatresse (1) trailing.
Summarized scores: Shannon Sports 146 for 9 in 20 overs (Iqwe Craig 57, Reshawn Guevara (19), Sylvon Cummings (13); Kyle Ramdoo 4/22, Kendall Guerra 2/15, Andre Medina 1/29) vs North Side Future Stars 150 for 9 in 19.3 overs (Kyle Ramdoo 53, Kendall Guerra 30, Ramon Diaz 17; Sylvon Cummings 6/22, Kelvon John 1/23).
