North Side Future Stars produced a dominant all-round performance to capture the North Zone 40-Over title with a convincing 103-run victory over Santa Cruz Sports Association in the final.
After winning the toss and batting first, Future Stars posted a challenging 204 for eight from their allotted 28 overs.
Kwesi Fournillier led the way with a fluent 68, while Darrell Dennison contributed an unbeaten 28 and Kendall Guerra added 26.
Santa Cruz fought hard with the ball, as Shaquille John and Keron Raymond both claimed three wickets, while Cordell Andrews picked up two.
Chasing 205, Santa Cruz never found the momentum required to threaten the target and were dismissed for 101 in 19.1 overs.
Keron Raymond top-scored with 25, while Brian Yearwood made 16 and Andrews chipped in with 13.
Guerra starred with the ball, producing a devastating spell of 6 for 20, while Dennison supported with 2 for 24.
Terrence James also claimed a wicket as Future Stars sealed a comprehensive triumph.
The champions had already sent a strong warning in their semifinal against newly-crowned North Zone T20 champions Savannah Boys.
After bowling out their opponents for just 114 in 24 overs, thanks largely to Terrence James’ outstanding figures of 5 for 36, Future Stars raced to 118 for one in only 9.4 overs.
James completed a memorable all-round display with an unbeaten 69, while Kwesi Fournillier struck 31 in the emphatic nine-wicket victory.
Santa Cruz earned their place in the final with a 68-run win over North Zone Senior Division champions Barataria Ball Players.
Shaquille John anchored the innings with an unbeaten 79 as Santa Cruz posted 185 for nine.
Aaron Ambrose then led the bowling effort with 4 for 21 as Barataria were dismissed for 117.
The final victory capped an impressive campaign for North Side Future Stars, and a return to winners’ row after taking the 2025 North Zone T20 title.
