2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Prize Package.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize structure for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The winner will receive USD$1.6 million dollars for their effort. Meanwhile, the Runner-Up will receive USD$800,000.
The two losing semi-finalists will each receive USD$400,000.
The ICC also revealed that the entire prize package of the T20 World Cup is USD$5.6 million dollars. This is to be shared by the 16 teams participating in this year’s tournament.
The report also stated that the ICC will award bonuses for each win during the Super 12 stage. A continuation from the 2016 edition of the tournament. Each team will get USD$40,000 for a win during the 30 matches of that stage.
The 8 teams exiting the tournament at the Super 12 stage will each receive USD$70,000.
Round One Prizes
There are 8 teams taking part in the Round One phase of the tournament: Bangladesh, Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, and Sri Lanka. For a win in this stage, each team will receive USD$40,000 while the 4 teams exiting the tournament at this stage will each receive USD$40,000.
So far, Afghanistan, Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and West Indies are the eight confirmed teams for the Super 12 stage of the tournament in the UAE and Oman.
Drinks Break
ICC also announced that a 2 minutes and 30 seconds drinks break will occur at the halfway stage of every innings.
