The 2021 edition of the Hero Caribbean Premier League is heading to St Kitts and Nevis. The announcement was made by the St. Kitts and Nevis government on Tuesday via a joint Zoom conference.
The four week tournament will get underway on 28 August with all 33 games being played at Warner Park. The tournament will see the similar format of games that worked so successfully in 2020 and delivered a record audience of over 500 million.
It was further announced that 50% stadium capacity will be allowed. All attendees must show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The 2020 tournament in Trinidad was successfully staged in a bio-secure bubble and the Hero CPL operations team said they will again work closely with the tournament’s medical advisors, local agencies and the St Kitts & Nevis government to ensure the health and safety of all those involved in the tournament as well as the local population. St Kitts & Nevis has no COVID-19 transmission and is one of the safest places to visit in the Caribbean, said CPL.
With the ICC T20 World Cup taking place later this year, the CPL can be used as preparation by West Indies and overseas players vying for selection to their international teams.

It will most certainly help to revive the tourism sector that has been struggling for over a year, under the weight of the deadly COVID-19 global pandemic. Therefore, the economic impact is forecast to be significant.”
