Glenora, Savannah Boys post big wins in North Zone T20 Festival

Glenora Sports Club and Savannah Boys Cricket Club both came away with convincing victories as Group B action continued in the North Zone T20 Festival at Diego Martin on Sunday, September 14.

In the day’s opening clash, Glenora Sports Club outlasted North Side Future Stars by 27 runs in a high-scoring affair.

After being sent in to bat, Glenora piled up 178 for 7 in their 20 overs, built on solid knocks from Leonardo Julien (46 off 34), Keon Mason (37 off 24), and Mikael Govia (34 off 27).

North Side’s bowlers kept fighting, with Andre Medina (2/18), Kyle Ramdoo (2/34,) and Kwesi Fournillier (2/38) sharing the wickets.

In reply, North Side Future Stars reached 151 for 5.

Akiel Guerra’s patient 42 off 48 balls and quickfire contributions from Ramon Diaz (37 off 19) and Kyle Ramdoo (31 off 20) kept them in touch, but Glenora’s attack, led by Kenroy Williams (3/21) and Daniel Holder (2/31), held their nerve to seal a 27-run win.

Savannah’s Pradeem Ali (4/14) and Chetram Ramlall (1/13) spearheaded the demolition, ensuring their side romped home comfortably.
