El Socorro Youth Movement (EYM) ended their North Zone T20 campaign with a 52-run victory over Combine All Stars, which was also eliminated from the competition.
The North Zone league and joint 40-over champions produced their best score of the tournament, piling up 166 for 7 in their 2o overs.
Christian Lall (61) and Richard Ali (33) put their team in a strong position with an 84-run partnership for the third wicket.
Ryan Inniss got the ball rolling with 32 off 18 balls, while Ernil Ryan was the best bowler for Combine All Stars with 2 for 20.
Combine All Stars lost big-hitting Mario Belcon (6) in the first over and their innings never developed beyond staccato bursts of runs.
Ray Campbell (29) made the best contribution with the bat, while Frank Simmons, batting at number seven, made 25 in Combine All Stars’ 114 for 9.
Akil Timothy took 3 for 20 to lead the EYM attack with Muhammad Aziz (2/24) and Neal Hassim (2/25) making vital contributions with the ball.
EYM lost their previous three games, while the defeat means that Combine All Stars have also lost three matches and will not make it to the semifinals.
Combine All Stars will play their final game in the tournament on 29 July against Glenora Sports Club.

Meanwhile, QPCC dealt a serious blow to North Side Future Stars’ hopes of a place in the semifinals, inflicting a six-wicket defeat in their final match of the tournament.
QPCC slumped to three defeats to crash out of the tournament but gave a reminder of their talents by chasing down 130 with two overs to spare.
Youthful opener Jesse Sookwah slammed 75 not out off 69 balls to anchor his team’s run chase.
He struck nine fours and a six in an innings where the next best contributor was Andre Seetaram (16).
Dave Samooj was the best bowler for North Side, taking 2 for 17 in his four overs of medium pace.
Earlier, Andre Media hit 43 to hold together a shaky effort of 129 for 9 from North Stars.
Seetaram (2/23), Adrian Burke (2/26), and Rayaz Gopaul (2/32) accounted for the bulk of the wickets for QPCC.
North Side must beat form team Savannah Boys on 30 July to keep alive their slim chance of qualification.
