Put in to bat by East Zone at Curepe, North built well on an excellent opening partnership (49) between Levi Burke (29) and Avinash Boodram (10).

Sanjiv Bachu then dismissed Guerra for 89 off 78 balls with 11 fours and two sixes.
Bachu, who took 5 for 32, and Chad Singh (2/6), conspired to snare the last three North wickets for one run as they closed on 235 for 8.
When East batted, they lost Jovani Boothman (0) early before Bachu (23) and Devesh Thomas added 58 for the second wicket.
Guerra removed Thomas for 31 and went on to take the next three wickets to reduce East to 123 for 6.
He ended with 4 for 24, while Guiseppi had 2 for 23 as a deflated East team subsided to 185 in 35.4 overs.
